The Shade of Blood (Shades of Darkness, Book 2)

About the Book:

After a perilous attempt at destroying the Darkness, Max and Ariella are faced with a new challenge: the King of the Clades. If they can get Quintus to believe them and help fight against the Darkness, they may just stand a chance and avoid a war that could set everything to ruin.

But the Clades isn’t the sanctuary they’d been hoping for.

Within a flurry of vicious nobles, deathly ballrooms, and blasphemous scheming, the evil that threatens everything they love grows stronger. And with it, the darkness swirling in Ariella. She and Max must tread carefully as they navigate their way through the king’s court, but nothing is ever as it seems.

Between the lies and secrets that hover over them both, can they find a way to survive another kingdom unscathed? Or will the shadows lurking at every turn finally be the breaking point that destroys the world?

This squeal lived up to the first book and never let me down. I loved everything about it. The characters, plot and the world-building. All, I can say it that this book was better than the first.

This plot was so amazing. All the plot twists and world-building done throughout the book. I loved how the author kept developing the world and plot. The writing was really detailed, so much so that you could imagine what was going on in your mind.

Character development was amazing. Max and Ariella are so cute. However, I loved that their romance didn’t overshadow the main plot of the book.

Overall, this book was captivating. It was action-packed and full of adventure. The characters were nicely developed and the author did an amazing job with the story. I really loved her writing style.
