Hey Booklovers,

As you may know, I have been talking a lot about Sarah K. L. Wilson’s book Phoenix Heart and her Vote with Your Preorder. So, I guess it’s time to meet the author.

Meet USA TODAY Bestselling Author Sarah K. L. Wilson.

She writes heartfelt Young Adult fantasy about little people in big worlds, standing against the darkness and refusing to back down.

1)What is your favorite book genre?

Fantasy

2)What was your inspiration for Phoenix Heart?

My Dragon School books featuring a dragon and his rider are my fans’ favorite. I was thinking about what other creatures might be fun to write and it occurred to me that I’d never seen a phoenix rider in a book I’d read. The idea filled me with excitement and this is the result.

3)What challenges did you face when writing Phoenix Heart?

This was my first tome writing a mute character and telling her story presented new and exciting opportunities.

4)Which three character (from any of your books) would you take with you to save the world?

Scouvrel from Tangled Fae, Vargaard from Heart of Shadow and Raolcan from Dragon School.

5)Who is your all time favorite author?

Terry Pratchett

6)Are there any book characters that hold a special place in your heart?(from your books or another author’s)

I’m very fond of Sam Vimes in Terry Pratchett’s books and Mat Cauthon from Robert Jordan’s. I often think about what they’d say in the circumstances I find myself in.

7)From all your series that you have written, do you have a favorite one?

My Fae Hunter series is my favorite published series.

8)What got you into writing?

I love reading books and I ran out books I wanted to read (this was before the ebook revolution and my local bookstores just didn’t carry many books).

I wrote so I could read more of the books I love.

9) Finally, if you could give any advice to future writers, what would it be?

My advice to aspiring writers is to keep on daydreaming and coming up with beautiful worlds. Those dreams will later feed your work.
Thank you so much for doing this interview with me, Sarah K. L. Wilson. It was a wonderful experience, and I wish you all the success with your three new series coming out.
